About Natalie
Welcome to Restored Sleep Consulting + Postpartum Care, I’m so glad you’re here. I’m Natalie, a Certified Pediatric Sleep Consultant and trained Postpartum Doula, and my passion is working with new moms and dads during the perinatal period and early years of parenting. I help families find a sustainable way to get their babies sleeping, so these early years can be filled with more joy, less stress, and most importantly, more sleep. Without it, we are not our best selves. I want you to be your best self for your baby, for your partner, and for you.
My background is in Education. I was a high school teacher for seven years before having my first baby. I never realized how much my career as a teacher would help prepare me for parenthood! During the time I was pregnant with my son, I heard a lot of “noise” from colleagues, friends, family, even strangers about sleep, or lack thereof, with an infant. I knew it didn’t have to be that way, and I wanted to find a way to get my baby into a good rhythm from the start, so that I could continue to work, exercise, have nights out, take trips, cook, and do the things I love and that made me happy.
During my pregnancy is when I began my education in infant feeding and sleep routines – researching everything from the science of baby sleep, to the various methods used to get babies to sleep, scheduling, feeding, and everything in between. I was fascinated and admittedly, somewhat obsessed, with learning about babies. I realized if I had some tools to help me through the first couple of months postpartum, we would be able to find our rhythm and thrive. That’s exactly what happened and by 8 weeks old, my first baby and only son, Connor, was in a great routine and sleeping long stretches through the night, and so was I.
Because of this, I quickly became a resource to other mom friends, friends of friends, and that’s when my career as a sleep consultant began. Since having Connor, I have had two more babies and the three of them could not be more different. Each has a unique personality and temperament, and each required a very different approach when it came to sleep. There are so many ways to get babies to sleep, and my goal in working with you is to find a sustainable way that fits your parenting style and helps you feel confident in meeting the needs of your baby.
